For Property And Casualty Insurance
What test should i apply for if i want to sell car insurance?

I want to take an insurance test to sell car insurance and any property insurance, but i do not know for which one to apply for personal lines Property And Casualty Insurance or general lines property and casualty insurance?

Do you want to sell BUSINESS car insurance, or only personal car insurance?

My vote, as long as you’re selling insurance and paying for the test, you might as well get the general lines – it keeps your options open.

How to Get Texas Windstorm Insurance

When you’re a homeowner there are a lot of things you have to consider. You have to decide how many bedrooms you want in a house you’re going to buy. You have to know what types of cleaning products you’re allowed to use on your floor. (You’d be amazed at how picky some types of flooring actually are!) And, if you’re moving to the Lone Star State, you have to consider whether or not you need to buy Texas windstorm insurance.

There are a lot of things you’re going to enjoy about living on the gulf coast. The damages left behind by windstorms like Dolly and Ike isn’t one of them. Hurricanes cause hundreds of thousands of dollars (or more) in damages when they come sweeping down Main Street, and the last thing you want is to end up holding the bag on hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of repairs to your home. That’s why you need Texas windstorm insurance.

Your Texas windstorm insurance policy will protect your windows, doors and roof from the damages caused by gale force winds and chunks of hail as big as your fist. For many homeowners, windstorm insurance coverage is going to be part and parcel of their standard homeowners insurance policy. Their homes will be protected from fire, flood and hurricane, and they won’t have to worry about finding additional coverage.

That’s the best case scenario when it comes to Texas windstorm insurance.

If your home is in a high risk area, like the counties of Aransas, Calhoun or Galveston (to name a few), finding windstorm insurance might be a little more difficult. Counties along the coast are usually among the first to be hit, which means that whoever their homeowners insurance provider is can pick up a red pen, circle the months during hurricane season and count on having to pay out a claim sooner or later. Needless to say, this makes them a little cranky-and a lot unwilling to include windstorm coverage in your homeowners insurance policy.

Fortunately, there’s an answer. The Texas Windstorm Insurance Association. The TWIA is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeowners just like you find the windstorm coverage they need to protect their property. This organization is a pool of all property and Casualty Insurance Companies authorized to write coverage in Texas, taking the blunt of the blow together to cover their policyholders. You can purchase insurance coverage through the TWIA through independent insurance agents throughout Texas and the surrounding areas. (Who, coincidentally, will also be the ones single handedly filing your claims).

Before you can purchase Texas windstorm insurance for your home you’re going to have to submit to a home inspection by an inspector from the Texas Insurance Department. That inspector will give you a WPI-8 form stating that your building is up to code (and therefore likely to suffer as little damage as possible from a windstorm). All you have to do from that point is submit the form, along with a current photo, along with your application and sit back. Relax. Whatever Mother Nature decides to throw your way, you’re covered.

Every time.
